Today is yours to enjoy the calm and tranquillity that your luxury accommodation offers or enjoy one of their many complimentary activities. Perhaps take a picnic basket and explore some of the walking trails around the lodge. Explore the Billabong by canoe or kayak which is excellent for snorkelling and is home to freshwater turtles, eels, Jungle Perch and the shy resident platypus. Cycle to Mossman Township or the Gorge itself on the lodges Mountain Bikes.

For most people, a visit to the Great Barrier Reef is a once in a lifetime experience. Snorkelling is the best and easiest way to see the reef as 90% of its diversity occurs within 4 metres of the surface. Accommodation: Two nights Wilderness Glamping and one night at Bernacchi House

Maria Island is a natural wildlife sanctuary and offshore retreat with historic ruins, sweeping bays, dramatic cliffs and plenty of stories to tell. Over the course of the next few days, you will explore the magnificence of Maria Island, stay in exclusive wilderness camps and enjoy gourmet dinners at night under the stars.

You will arrive at the historic coastal town of Triabunna, where your guides boat will take you to Maria Island through the sparkling waters of Mercury Passage to the isthmus of Maria Island. You will set foot on a pristine, untouched beach, exactly as explorers did years earlier. Here you enjoy lunch overlooking the crystal azure waters of Shoal Bay before taking a walk to the tranquil Casuarina Beach camp. This afternoon explore the trail through the tall eucalypt forest down to the spectacular Haunted Bay.

This evening, after a fine Tasmanian gourmet dinner, stroll along the beach at sunset with a glass of wine, delighting in the day you’ve had and excited by what lies ahead.

Wake up to the busy chattering of the wattle birds and, from the comfort of your bed, watch the morning sun sparkle through the forest. This is one of the truly great guided walks of Australia! After a delicious breakfast, it’s time to start your journey along five beautiful beaches. Watch dolphins play in the surf and sea eagles soaring overhead as you walk past the carpet of exotic shells lining the water’s edge. By late afternoon you arrive at White Gums camp for a refreshing swim. After the perfect day, you can relax with your fellow walkers, before enjoying a candlelit dinner of the finest Tasmanian food and wine.

Today your guides will take you inland to the heart of the Island to discover the rich greens of the grand forests. You’ll wander through the world’s largest stand of giant Tasmanian blue gums and can choose to climb the peaks of Mt Maria or Bishop and Clerk. It’s a 700 metres climb through rare “cloud” rain forests. As you can imagine, the views are simply breathtaking. This evening you arrive at Tasmanian’s fascinating World Heritage listed settlement of Darlington where you’ll stay at the elegant colonial Bernacchi House and enjoy a final night banquet with fine wine and conversation.

Accommodation: Three nights at Islington Hotel Guesthouse in a Garden Room

Your final day begins with a delicious breakfast followed by a walk around the northern tip of Maria Island. The walk takes you through a variety of spectacular woodlands and forests with rare endemic birds, wallabies and wombats on show. You continue on to the dramatic sea cliffs of Fossil Bay and then head down to the remarkable fossils at Fossil Cliffs. Arriving back at Darlington you will enjoy a celebratory farewell lunch before boarding the boat to go back to the mainland Tasmania and Hobart taking with you, incredible memories and stories of an amazing four days, walking in Tasmania, spent in a very special place.

Today’s remarkable experience will find you taking to the skies and tracking towards the east coast of Tasmania, taking in the stunning Freycinet Peninsula and Wineglass Bay. Continuing on water, you will explore the magnificent Freycinet National Park from the Tasman Sea, giving you a unique perspective of the incredible sheer granite cliffs, sea caves and hidden coves as well as wildlife sightings such as seabirds, penguins, dolphins, seals and whales. You will enjoy a delicious lunch aboard the boat, before taking off for a scenic flight home via Tasmania’s spectacular east coast.

Take a walk along Hobart’s iconic waterfront, explore the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery or take a ferry up river to MONA for an out-of-this-world modern art experience.
